Game of Thrones Quotes That Will Stay In Your Head

Not a long time ago I’ve read this extensive collection of GoT quotes at this website. It really is The Ultimate collection – the most quality quotes I’ve found at one place, with its own original images. Of course, I prefer my favorite characters accompany the images, but nevertheless, the collection is great! It is a bit time consuming to read all of 100+ quotes there, so I’ve decided to make The Best of The Ultimate GoT Quotes! Ha-ha! It sounds great! Or a bit over-the-top, anyway 😊

The point is that I really like the show. And, during these few years, it has produced some fantastic pieces of wisdom ever said on TV screens. You can say that I’m exaggerating, but the show is so realistic that the lessons learned there can be immediately applied in our everyday lives. I am not saying that you should closely look at what Littlefinger does, and try to replicate it (no, seriously, don’t do that. Not nice, really, not nice). Be prepared for people acting LF way towards you, and try to prevent it, but don’t do it yourself. However, I do say that you can learn a lot from Tyrion about politics, or from Jon about honor and doing the right thing (check out this Game of Thrones quotes collection to see something similar).

Put aside the Dragons, Valerian steel, White Walkers, all the magic and battles and theories – the show is really about the human relations. And that is something our daily lives are made of. You may not like how Aidan Gillen delivers the role of LF, but you can never say that he is right, in his own way, when he says that “chaos is a ladder”. It is the pit for the most of the people, but he sees only an opportunity that arises from chaos, often the same chaos he created. So yes, chaos is a pit. And yes, chaos is a ladder too. It all depends on your point of view, I guess.

Following GOT quotes can have only one meaning. Or more than one. Or as many as there are people on the Earth able to read them. But for each one of us, they have a unique meaning. We see them in our own way. They influence us, or not, in a unique way for each of us. I know what they mean to me and why I love them so much. What do they mean to you? How do you see them? Let me know in the comments section below.

So, without further ado, here they are:

“All rulers are either butchers or meat.” — Daario Naharis

“Let me give you some advice, bastard. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armour, and it can never be used to hurt you.” — Tyrion Lannister

“When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.” — Cersei Lannister

“I’m not questioning your honour, Lord Janos. I’m denying its existence.” — Tyrion Lannister

“We’ve had vicious kings and we’ve had idiot kings, but I don’t know if we’ve ever been cursed with a vicious idiot boy king.” — Tyrion Lannister

“The Lord of Light wants his enemies burned, the Drowned God wants them drowned. Why are all the gods such vicious c–ts? Where’s the god of tits and wine?” — Tyrion Lannister

“Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again — the fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but they refuse. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love … illusions. Only the ladder is real, the climb is all there is.” — Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish

“Anyone can be killed.” — Arya Stark

“By what right does the wolf judge the lion?” — Jaime Lannister

“Any man who must say ‘I am the king’ is no true king.” — Tywin Lannister

“The long night is coming, and the dead come with it. No clan can stop them, the free folk can’t stop them, the Night’s Watch can’t stop them and all the southern kings can’t stop them. Only together, all of us, and even then it might not be enough but at least we’ll give the fuckers a fight.” — Jon Snow
